There are, they say, a hundred ways to get to Rome. Well there are just as many ways to get to Venice as well for the memorable holidays in Venice. You can travel to Venice in any mode that suits you. You can drive yourself, take the bus or train, fly or get here by boat. The choice is yours. Let me give you some additional details that may be relevant.
Get in the car – this may be less attractive because you can’t drive around Venice and you have to pay a fair amount to park your tires on your Venice holidays. If you want to drive, it is best to use a rental car. Parking, as I mentioned, is expensive in Venice. But it is cheaper if you park your car in Mestre and take a train to Venice. Locals leave every five to ten minutes and the cost of parking is worth what Venice has to offer.
If you choose to go to Venice, Italy by train, remember to continue until the last stop in Santa Lucia. The good thing about Santa Lucia is the fact that it is right on the Grand Canal and just outside the railway station you can get the Vaporetto or the buses. Be careful not to go to Mestre.
If you are traveling to Venice for a Venice Vacation, you will be landing at the Marco Polo airport where all scheduled carriers are located. The airport is about 13 miles from Venice and is connected to buses, shuttles and private taxis – naturally enough, rates increase in the same order. The parco polo is well connected and has flights from anywhere you can name it. You can search online or speak with your travel agent to find cheap flights to Venice, Italy.
As I said before, you can also get to Venice via a cruise ship for your Venice vacation. They watch the Port of Venice. You can take a complete shuttle boat from the cruise ship to Piazza San Marco.
A unique feature of Venice is its car-free nature. It may be time to get used to walking anywhere without worrying about running. If you spend time in town, remember that the rest of the world is not so safe!
A romantic way to travel to Venice is to use the Gondola, but it can be expensive, usually spending EUR75 or more an hour. Make sure you know what your wages are and don’t hesitate on the cheap. There are parts of gondolas as well where you pay a little more but it’s for traveling instead of for romance!
Fortunately, Venice is also a town you can see on foot. If you have the time to spend and really want to relax in the city on your Venice vacations, this is the option we recommend.
