Las Vegas Travel Tips: First and foremost, the biggest mistake many Las Vegas travelers make when planning a trip is to book the cheapest air fare / hotel package “anywhere”. It is offered anywhere from your town’s newspaper to television ads, e-mail spam. Beware!
Why not? A Cheap Vacation in Las Vegas well, we agree! BUT, do you know everything Hotels in Las Vegas have 2- 3 levels of room quality (or options)? Now, we point out that while many of the five stars, “big ones” many of which are simply substandard rooms, may have a nice view of the air conditioning system! (This is what happened to me personally, and it’s Loud!)
Things like old bed mattresses, no safes, old-fashioned decor, long walk to the casino, socks, shows, or even a taxi. Did you know there are monorail trains running behind certain rooms? What about a roller coaster just outside the window? And many more. Just remember that “most” is just that. Ask the front desk at the check-in where your room is, check it out before signing in if possible.
We’re not pushing for only high-dollar rooms here, just get the best quality room your budget allows, you’ll enjoy what you do.
Why Book Your Hotel First? Las Vegas is booked up to an average of 94% year round, so plan ahead (at least 30+ days are recommended) to get the exact days you want, where you want, quality room you want. Also, it is usually cheaper to book well in advance. Did you know that Sundays through Thursdays are less expensive? When you get your pick Hotel in Las Vegas booked, then you can book a flight to hit the sun outside to suit YOUR schedule.
It makes sense, doesn’t it?
Once you’ve got it Hotel in Las Vegas gi-book first. Then you can read the Las Vegas shows that you want, if you want. Be sure to check to see if your particular display choices aren’t “dark” on your chosen days. The Holidays are a great example of dark days.
Then read your Take a tour of Las Vegas. (If you haven’t experienced it yet brought on a Helicopter Ride in the evening at “Glitter Gulch and Downtown”, or a night trip to Boulder Dam and Grand Canyon this is something you will never forget!) It’s not as expensive as you think! Check out our links to tours for prices and times.
This is the entertainment capital of the World, so allow yourself enough time to get as many attractions (twelve free) as you can, making it your own Vacation in Las Vegas even more memorable. If possible, book an extra stay overnight to allow for a special Las Vegas Tour or a day at Las Vegas Golf.
Las Vegas Gambling Tips:
Gambling is the blood of Las Vegas. Never mind the billion-dollar hotels built by the “winners”? Make a daily budget for gambling and get involved! you do have a good chance of winning. Hundreds if not thousands of “Hand Pay Jackpots” are paid daily. However, be careful that those chips, tokens and ticket-in / ticket-outs may seem like they are “playing money” not your money is real! Stick to your budget! Have I said that?
Get a “players card” wherever you go and use it, or if you’re a “table player” ask the pit boss to “rank” or “rate” you. They are in line with your game and comp you according to all kinds of free stuff. Such as meals, rooms, clothes, alms, gift points and even money. It really helps to put the results in your favor.
It may seem like my “budget” is always small, but try your best to set a reasonable daily goal and stick to it, don’t tap into the budget tomorrows! Only you can walk away with a big winner! It happens every day. Remember the phrase: “Go Forward”!
This is not my place to preach, but here are a few useful tip in Las Vegas to manage your money. All the cash in the casinos you see everywhere attracts some pretty shitty characters (read Crooks!) Security is good, but there are always a few, and one has to ruin a perfect one. vacation.
Las Vegas Security:
Ladies, carry or buy a small purse with a necklace or luggage bag, or a fanny pack, something that your person will be comfortable with all the time. Not at all put your wallet on the floor or next to a machine, or on a bench next to you. It’s a magnet for thieves! Keep that strap around your neck.
Most thieves work in pairs, one to distract you, the other to retrieve your wallet. The only kind of problems they use are: drop a bill or coin or dollar or two near you on the floor and ask “is that your money on the floor?” while another snatch your things, or excessively talkative “players” sit next to you and jabber to grab your attention, while their partner grabs your things, or hits the payout button and walk away from your ticket. Believe me. it happening. They are very fast and fast, just the same conscious.
If you can accumulate a winning ticket, keep it in your wallet or purse until you are ready to spend it, and then save the money. Remember the “go” tip?
Guys: It’s not shy to wear a garbage can. Okay, if you don’t want to, then pick your bills and put them in the pocket of your pants up front. If they “pickpocket” your wallet with all your credit cards here you may have your cash, or vice versa, just keep them separate. And, look at those tickets.
If you hit a good-sized jackpot, take the money to your room safe or bring it to the Hotel table for security. Or, ask for a Security escort in your room or car. They are happy to provide this service. Don’t walk around a casino or street with lots of money!
Security is good at all Hotels and Casinos. With all of the thousands of cameras (Eyes in the sky) every inch of the casino is constantly tapping. (Did you know that Nevada law requires casinos to have this level of security?) This is for your protection as well as Hotel / Casino.
Now please understand, we’re not trying to scare you here, but we’ll just give it a go conscious! It’s really easy to get all the flashing lights, noise, overheads displayed, people watching and normal interruptions in a casino. Don’t just give them a chance to ruin your fun.
